Birth Doula Services

Throughout time, in almost every culture, women have been cared for by women during labor. Studies have shown that women who are supported emotionally during their labors by doulas are: 25% less likely to give birth by caesarean section, 31% less likely to use synthetic oxytocin to speed up labor, 10% less likely to use anesthesia, and 34% less likely to rate their birth experience as negative. The role of the birth doula is to provide emotional support to the laboring woman and her partner, so the laboring woman is more likely to achieve the birth she desires. Holistic Beginnings Premier Birth Doula Packages prices range from $850.00 – $2900.00. NYC rates are higher.

Whether you’re facing an induction for medical reasons or simply want to be prepared, our class empowers you with the information and tools to make informed decisions and approach labor with a calm, positive mindset.

Postpartum Doula Services

New mothers face many challenges; getting to know their babies, learning how to breastfeed, adjusting to their new role and learning to balance the needs of everyone in the new family.

There is “evidence suggesting that quality support can ease the transition that comes with the addition of a baby to the family. By educating; attending to the needs of the parents, newborn and children; and by offering quality referral information, the postpartum doula can ease and enhance the postpartum experience.

Every family can benefit from the support and encouragement offered by a doula during the fourth trimester”.* Postpartum doula services are priced at an hourly rate of $55 to $75 an hour.

Cesarean Birth Preparation Classes

Learn about caesarean and how to tailor a birth plan for your upcoming caesarean birth.

Are you scheduled for a C-section or want to be prepared for all possibilities during your birth journey? This Cesarean Birth Preparation Class is designed to support expectant parents with clear, compassionate, and practical guidance on what to expect before, during, and after a cesarean delivery.

You will learn the step by step overview of the surgery, what to expect at the hospital, pain management options, emotional preparation and common concerns. We will also go over postpartum recovery tips and healing guidance.

Lactation Counseling

A Certified Lactation Counselor is a health care professional that provides evidence-based information and non-judgmental support to breastfeeding women who are having difficulty with some aspect of breastfeeding. Consider a one-on- one consultation if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Latching difficulties
  • Breast/nipple pain or injury
  • Low milk production
  • Baby weight gain difficulties

Laura provides virtual consultations so she can see how you and your baby breastfeed together and can provide recommendations for correcting or improving latch, positioning ,and provide information on supplementation and weaning.

Breastfeeding Basics:

This Virtual Lactation  course is a 3 hour comprehensive Lactation class for pregnant families and doulas which satisfies the DONA International Breastfeeding Requirement for both Birth Certification and Postpartum Certification. Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance after the workshop. Tuition of $75.00 is non-refundable/non-transferrable.
